Vključevanje študentov kot generator urbane povezanosti - Idejna zasnova aktivacije območja Blok 39 v Novem Beogradu

Magistrska naloga obravnava odnos med visokim šolstvom in javnim prostorom ter vpliv, ki ga ta odnos ima na povezovanje ljudi v mestu. Teoretični del naloge prikazuje spodbujanje družbenih interakcij v javnem prostoru in razvoj kritičnega mišljenja kot pomembni značilnosti visokošolskih vsebin v mestu. Glede na to, da se visoko šolstvo nenehno razvija, se zastavlja vprašanje, ali je mogoče njegov pozitiven vpliv na javni prostor izkoristiti kot izhodišče za prihodnji razvoj. V analitičnem delu je Beograd, na ravni mesta, mestne občine in lokacije, obravnavan na podlagi teoretičnih izhodišč. Ugotovitve kažejo, da razpršena mestna univerza v Beogradu nima zadostnega vpliva na prepletanje študentskega in mestnega življenja, medtem ko na izbrani lokaciji in v njeni okolici narašča ogroženost javnih prostorov. Lokacija projekta je zanemarjeno območje Blok 39 v mestni občini Novi Beograd. Ugotovljeno je bilo, da bi namestitev različnih vsebin, pomembnih tako za študente kot za širšo javnost, lahko pripomogla k oživitvi lokacije in rešitvi predstavljenih problemov v ožjem in širšem merilu. Predlagani projekt je javni kampus, kjer bi študenti in javnost imeli dostop do različnih kulturnih, izobraževalnih in družbenih vsebin. Velika količina zelenja na lokaciji je ohranjena in uporabljena za oblikovanje mestnega parka, ki bi predstavljal pomembno zeleno površino v širši okolici.

• Title: Student engagement as a generator of urban connectivity - Conceptual design for activating the area of Block 39 in New Belgrade

Abstract

This master’s thesis examines the relationship between higher education and public space, as well as the impact that this relationship has on bringing people together in the city. The theoretical part of the thesis highlights the promotion of social interactions in public spaces and the development of critical thinking as key features of higher education programs in the city. Given that higher education is constantly evolving, the question arises as to whether its positive impact on public space can be utilised as a starting point for future development. In the analytical part, Belgrade is examined at the city, municipality, and location scale based on theoretical frameworks. The findings indicate that the dispersed urban university in Belgrade does not have a sufficient influence on the intertwining of student and urban life, while the vulnerability of public spaces is increasing at the selected location and in its surroundings. The project site is the neglected area of Block 39 in the municipality of New Belgrade. It was determined that the introduction of various facilities, important both to students and the general public, could help revitalize the site and address the identified problems on both a smaller and larger scale. The proposed project is a public campus where students and the public would have access to various cultural, educational, and social amenities. The large amount of greenery on the site is preserved and used to create an urban park, which would serve as an important green space in the wider area.
