Environmental protection factors significantly influence citizens' life satisfaction. Environmental protection is becoming an increasingly important global topic, supported by numerous strategic documents at the global, national, and local levels. The purpose of the master’s thesis is to analyse and compare citizens’ satisfaction with selected environmental protection factors in three selected Slovenian municipalities. Using an online survey questionnaire, data were collected on citizens’ satisfaction with environmental protection factors and four hypotheses were analysed. The first hypothesis assumes that satisfaction with environmental factors varies among municipalities. I have assessed the hypothesis with ANOVA analysis, which confirms that satisfaction with nearly all factors is generally similar and statistically different only in terms of satisfaction with water quality. Based on that, the first hypothesis was partially confirmed. The second hypothesis assumes that responders are generally satisfied with the possibility and accessibility to sustainable mobility. Based on t-test results, compared to the neutral value, citizens of Trzin and Domžale are satisfied, while citizens of Komenda are dissatisfied, so I've partially confirmed the second hypothesis. The third hypothesis assumes that citizens are more satisfied with the noise level factor than the air quality factor. The analysis shows the opposite, therefore I have rejected the third hypothesis. The last hypothesis examines satisfaction with air quality and sustainable mobility among selected municipalities and compares it with ten European cities. Based on the results, the citizens of Slovenian municipalities are more satisfied with air quality and sustainable mobility than citizens of ten selected European cities, so I confirmed the fourth hypothesis. The research provides municipalities with valuable insight into current levels of satisfaction with environmental factors and offers guidance for further actions and improvements.
