Abstract
Najpomembnejši vrednotni sklopi so bili spoštovanje, poštenost, samoobvladovanje in prijateljstvo.

Title:A comparative analysis of the values of coaches and parents in the judo kindergarten program – the example of Slovenian judo clubs
Abstract:
This master's thesis examines the role of a preschool judo program as a context of secondary socialization, focusing on the comparison of value orientations between coaches and parents of participating children. The study is based on understanding judo as a social institution that provides children with both physical development and the transmission of moral, social, and cultural values. Judo is grounded in eight value categories, derived from judo tradition and formally supported by the International Judo Federation. The aim of the research is to determine the extent to which value orientations of judo coaches and parents align or differ, considering gender and social role. The study uses a comparative analysis combining qualitative (semi-structured interviews) and quantitative (online questionnaires) methodologies. Secondary data from Social Science Data Archive were also used to contextualize the findings within broader Slovenian society. Results indicate that coaches’ and parents’ value orientations are largely consistent with each other and with prevailing value orientations in Slovenian society. The most significant value categories were respect, honesty, self-control, and friendship. Observed gender differences did not indicate value conflicts but rather reflected different modes of interpreting and transmitting these values. The preschool judo program can therefore be considered an effective environment for linking family and institutional socialization and for supporting the overall development of children.
