Preko robov : urbanistična zasnova revitalizacije starega industrijskega območja na Jesenicah

Magistrsko delo obravnava funkcionalnost opuščenih prostorov na Jesenicah, njihovo rabo ter vpetost v širši prostorski kontekst. Osrednji namen naloge je v prostoru izpostaviti opuščena industrijska območja, ki ponujajo možnost za nadaljnji razvoj mesta. Edinstven razvoj Jesenic, ki ga je v veliki meri zaznamovala industrija, se še danes odraža v podobi mesta, njegovi prostorski strukturi ter dinamiki vsakdanjega življenja. V prvem delu naloge je predstavljena problematika degradiranih urbanih območij ter pristopi k njihovi regeneraciji in ponovni vključitvi v mestno tkivo. V teoretičnem delu so opredeljeni različni pristopi in metode, ki omogočajo celosten razvoj nekdanjih industrijskih območij. Na podlagi zaznavne analize mesta se v nadaljevanju izluščijo najbolj problematična območja, ki v prostoru delujejo kot ločnice, hkrati pa predstavljajo priložnost za načrtovanje vzporednega mestnega središča. Vanj bi bilo mogoče umestiti številne dejavnosti, za katere v obstoječi prostorski razporeditvi mesta ni ustreznega prostora. Načrtovana ureditev temelji na novem ustroju namenske rabe prostora ter vzpostavlja povezavo med mestnim jedrom in nabrežjem reke Save. Nova zazidalna zasnova stremi k ustvarjanju kakovostnega bivanjskega okolja z živahnim javnim življenjem med stavbami, pri čemer se zasnova zunanjih ureditev opira na teorijo Jana Gehla. S prenovo obstoječih objektov in umeščanjem novih programov se območje regenerira na celosten način. Rezultat predlagane prenove je novo, vzporedno središče mesta Jesenic, ki ponovno aktivira javno življenje ter vzpostavlja novo zeleno potezo ob reki Savi.

• Title: Across the edges : a conceptual urban plan for the revitalization of an old industrial area inJesenice

Abstract

The master's thesis discusses the functionality of abandoned spaces in Jesenice, their use, and their integration into the broader spatial context. The main purpose of the thesis is to highlight abandoned industrial areas in the space, which offer the possibility for further development of the city. The unique development of Jesenice, largely influenced by industry, is still reflected in the city's appearance, spatial structure, and the dynamics of everyday life. The first part of the task presents the problem of degraded urban areas and approaches to their regeneration and reintegration into the urban fabric. The theoretical part defines various approaches and methods that enable the comprehensive development of former industrial areas. Based on a perceptual analysis of the city, the most problematic areas that act as edges in the space are identified, and at the same time, they represent an opportunity for planning a parallel city center. It would be possible to fit in many activities for which there is no suitable space in the current spatial arrangement of the city. The planned arrangement is based on a new spatial use structure and establishes a connection between the city center and the Sava River embankment. The new building design aims to create a quality living environment with a lively public life between buildings, with outdoor arrangements based on the theory of Jan Gehl. The area is regenerated in a comprehensive manner through the renovation of existing buildings and the introduction of new programs. The result of the proposed renovation is a new, parallel city center of Jesenice, which reactivates public life and establishes a new green path along the Sava River.
