Introduction: Conflicts in nursing are a frequent phenomenon, occurring both in the workplace and in private life. Purpose: The aim of this thesis is to identify the causes of conflicts among healthcare professionals in Slovenia and abroad, to explore different methods of conflict resolution, and to evaluate their impact on the work environment and the quality of healthcare delivery. Methods: A descriptive method was applied, using a systematic review of the literature. The time frame for the search was from March 2025 to September 2025, with exceptions for older sources (2005, 2006, 2008) where more recent definitions and explanations were not available. Literature was reviewed in both Slovenian and English, using the following keywords: interpersonal relationship AND healthcare personnel AND team dynamics AND work climate AND conflict. The databases searched included Medline (PubMed), COBISS.SI, and CINAHL. Results: The findings indicate that the most common causes of conflict are communication difficulties, hierarchical relationships, and work-related stress. The most effective conflict resolution strategies include a collaborative approach, mediation, and strengthening teamwork. Discussion and conclusion: Conflicts in nursing can have a negative impact on the work atmosphere and the quality of care; however, with appropriate approaches they can also serve as an opportunity for improvement. Continuous education and organizational support are crucial.
