Digital media in Slovenia is at a turning point – traditional storytelling is no longer a sufficient way to attract modern audiences. Today, people increasingly follow the news through social media platforms, where short, dynamic videos reign supreme. Consequently, editors have begun to adapt to new trends in the field, as it is difficult to maintain contact with the audience without a presence on such platforms. However, there are many factors to consider. The Slovenian media market is small, limited by language and a distinct cultural identity, which makes creating content through video on social platforms difficult. Due to this, media houses must find creative ways to turn video content into profitable projects. The solution is not simply to create more content, but above all to thoughtfully create such projects. It can be achieved by a team with the right skills, who focus on quality and the development of various business paths, while ensuring financial sustainability. Nonetheless, it has been proven time and again that without broader social and financial support, such as state co-financing, many media outlets will not survive the pressure of the modern media world. To continue telling significant stories by present-day standards in the future, they will not only need the will but also the support of the wider community.
