Slovenia is threatened by many natural hazards, which is especially true for the mountainous and hilly region including valleys and lowlands. The mountainous region of Slovenia includes the Julijske Alpe, Kamniško-Savinjske Alpe and the Karavanke. The most common natural hazards in the mountainous regions are earthquakes, floods, landslides, rockslides and avalanches. The damage prevention is best founded on better knowledge of natural hazards and their occurances. The publications in serial publications bring the most recent discoveries in specific areas. Bibliometrical methods with quantitative analysis gives us the chance to obtain results of publicity a certain area has achieved, in our case the geography of natural hazards. The geography of natural hazards a highly developed discipline with a long tradition, a well established custure of citation and highly scientific articles, which is very important, because only constant research and regular publication of new discoveries about the causes, damage, threat levels and prevention can significantly contribute to lowering the number of human casualties and economic damage caused by natural disasters. Slovenian geographers have contributed a significant share in research and publication in this area.
