The bioclimatic pergolas from K3 Objekti d.o.o are an advanced version with a roof made of adjustable louvers, allowing light regulation and protection against weather conditions. They include a motorized louver system, whose control system has certain limitations. Therefore, an upgrade to a more advanced system was proposed. The newly designed control system supports extended functionality, including the capability for automatic operation based on weather conditions and wireless connectivity based on Bluetooth Low Energy technology.
The upgraded system includes a control device for managing the linear motor, which directly adjusts the openness of the roof louvers. The motor is operated via various external switches, sensors, and wireless communication, enabling both control and configuration of the device. The control unit is comprised of several modular electronic circuits, providing greater flexibility and easier testing. Alongside the control device, a mobile application has been developed for wireless management. The app, built using the Flutter framework, is suitable for multiple platforms such as Android and iOS. It allows for louver position regulation, device configuration, and monitoring of measured data, such as motor current, ambient temperature, and humidity.
The final control device and mobile application largely meet the technical requirements set during the system’s design phase, except for the measurement of ambient temperature and humidity, which were omitted due to the scope of the project. The final system can be easily integrated into the existing bioclimatic pergola system by K3 Objekti, successfully upgrading the existing simpler control system. Its modular design allows for easy adaptability and further development. Future enhancements include the integration of Bluetooth Mesh technology, which would enable the connection of a larger number of devices, as well as support for new types of actuators, such as shades or LED lights.
