The major purpose of this thesis was to make sure that the most common types of cancer are made aware through visual communication. Cancer is one of the most widespread diseases worldwide and a lot of information is available concerning it. However, people often ignore it or they do not get the meaning or extract the real content from it. This way, by using an effective visual communication approach, this information can be presented in a more reachable and appealing manner with increased possibility of acceptance and consideration. To make sure that results were as successful as possible, a survey to find out which data on this theme is mostly lacking in our society and how respondents would prefer such data to be presented to them, was developed. In the theoretical part, we studied visual communication field and posters as well as infographics and how QR codes work and are used for. On basis of our research and survey results, we created six posters each containing a QR code leading to an infographic designed by me. The infographic contains very brief but important information about self-examination, prevention, risk factors and symptoms. We used Adobe Illustrator 2024 and Adobe Photoshop 2024 programs, and made those posters to show cancer’s complex as well as frightening nature in a fun, hopeful and non-threatening way while infographics continue to give straightforward facts. The plan is that through our work on cancer, more people will learn about the disease, which makes early diagnosis and effective management possible due to information availability.
