In the first part of the thesis, I will present youth literature as a literary genre. Youth literature is very important for both adults and young people, as well as for school and preschool age. The very beginning and development of youth literature, youth literature in Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina and the former Yugoslavia, as well as the translation of Bosnian fairy tales into Slovenian and vice versa, are presented.
The second part of the thesis presents the definition, the types in which the folk tale is described in detail, and the theories of the study of the tale: structuralist, psychoanalytical, feminist, sociological, folkloristic. A Slovenian and Bosnian fairy tale is presented. In a special chapter, literary theory is described, in which the theory of Max Lüthi, his biography and its five characteristic models of the folk tale are presented: one-dimensionality, flatness, abstract style, isolation and universal connection, and sublimation and inclusiveness. Also, below is the biography, collection and recording of the Brothers Grimm's fairy tales.
In the empirical part of the thesis, a comparative analysis of Slovenian folk tales and Bosnian folk tales is presented, which is based on the literary theory of Max Lüthi. Three Slovenian and three Bosnian folk tales are presented. The analysis is presented in tables, after each table I will also present the findings of the analysis.
In the second part of the empirical work, a comparative analysis of the Slovenian and Bosnian versions of the Brothers Grimm's fairy tales is presented, which is also based on the literary theory of Max Lüthi. The aim of the thesis is to find out how Slovenian and Bosnian folk tales differ and what Slovenian and Bosnian folk tales are similar to.
