This dissertation is mainly a presentation of Anukul Chandra Mukerji's theory of self, according to which the self is to be understood as unchanging consciousness, immanent and transcendent being and experiencing. Although we never have an experience of undetermined being – an experience that would not already contain objective determinations, – we have to, out of consistency, explicitly state, that only the binding (unity) of consciousness with everything present enables the things to enter the knowledge relation and within it be objectively determined.
