Wood decay fungi can be used in bioremediation - detoxification of pollutants from specific environment. White-rot fungi are able to bioremediate some of organic pollutants, because their chemical structures are similar to lignine. 4 wood decay fungi: Gloeophyllum trabeum, Hypoxlon fragiforme, Pleurotus ostreatus and Trametes versicolor were used. Agar plates with paper discs were impregnated with different concentrations (20; 6.595; 2.175; 0.717; 0.236 and 0.078 mmol/L) of organic biocides - Lindane, sodium pentachlorofenolate, Permetrin and polychlorinated biphenyl were afterwards inoculated with those fungi. Trametes versicolor was found as the best fungi for bioremediation of organic biocides, Pleurotus ostreatus showed the worst results. Permetrin and polychlorinated biphenyl were more, while Lindane and sodium pentachlorofenolate less bioremedegradable.
