The work addresses the topic of national airspace, with a particular emphasis on the role of airports, using Ljubljana Airport as a case study. In the analysis of airspace, I focused on its division, control, and management, as well as on the international organisations that are crucial for the coordination of air traffic. I also explored the development of aircraft, the impact of conflicts on air traffic, and examined the environmental impacts of aviation. In the first part of the thesis, I present the airspace and its characteristics, while in the second part, I focus on Ljubljana Airport. I analysed the history, location, function, and significance of the airport for the country, its environmental impacts, and its connectivity with other geographical areas.
