In the past decade, we have observed an increase in the number of vegans, or individuals following a plant-based diet. With the object of my research, in which I compared and analysed the ideology of two vegan restaurants in Ljubljana, I first briefly described what veganism is, its history, and the concept of vegan restaurants. In the second, empirical section, through two standardized interviews, a method of written source analysis, and covert observation, I attempted to find answers to the research questions. I was interested in whether there are noticeable differences between vegan restaurants regarding the importance and visibility of vegan ideology and how these differences manifest. I learned that certain differences do exist, but they are not as evident as I initially thought. Some differences are evident in the way service is provided, future plans, pricing strategies, customer relations, and cooperation with vegan organizations. Contrary to expectations, the selected restaurants are ideologically and conceptually similar to each other.
