Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is a neurological, developmental disorder characterised by attention deficits accompanied by hyperactivity and impulsivity. Medicines designed to treat the disorder do not cure it, but rather alleviate its symptoms. The purpose of this Master's thesis is to present the importance of sport and recreational activities in the management of hyperactivity disorder. In this thesis we present the disorder, its symptoms and their treatment. We have also described the importance of physical activity and its physical and mental impact. In the second part of the thesis, we describe different types of physical activity and their impact on ADHD, as well we present the existing research in this field. We introduced movement education with a psychomotor approach, describing exercises and games, and presented a programme of movement-behaviour therapy. Physical activity has many benefits and positive effects and can be said to be one of the appropriate treatments for children and adults with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. Our intention is to help parents, professionals, teachers and anyone else who is in any way involved with this disorder.
