In this thesis, the perception of forests by inhabitants of different regions of Slovenia was investigated. The research focuses on the differences in the perception of the forest environment among the inhabitants of different regions and the influence of factors such as forest types, forest activities and geographical characteristics of the regions on this perception. The methods used include population surveys, data analysis and statistical methods. The results show that there are significant differences in the perception of forests between regions. The majority of the population expresses a positive perception of the forest environment, but this perception varies according to the dominant forest types in the region, the diversity of forest activities and the geographical characteristics of each region.
