The topic of the thesis is to investigate digitalization in business, and its impact on the field of personnel management. The main purpose of the work is to determine the importance of digitalization for business, and its impact on employees, and at the same time to develop an application for recording absences and work records. Source and application analyses were used, as well as various qualitative methods such as interviews and empirical research. Based on the obtained sources on digitalization, a source analysis was first performed. Later, we conducted two interviews with the director of a small company, which helped us with the case study and the deduction method. The analysis showed that digitalization plays an important role in growth, competitiveness and progress in the business environment. The COVID-19 pandemic was also an important factor for digitalization, as it directly increased the amount of digitalization in companies. Digitalization also has a strong impact on employees, as it can greatly optimize work, but at the same time, it brings problems to the elderly due to gaps in their knowledge of the digital world. Qualitative methods have shown that the selected company has problems with the digitalization of absenteeism and work records. We also discovered that application development needs to be approached systematically and gradually. The results of the thesis are important because they show how digitalization can help improve operations, the impact of digitalization on employees, and how the company can optimize the process of recording absences and work records. This work can serve as a basis for future research in the field of digitalization of human resources management and the development of applications for the digitalization of internal company processes.
