Today wooden construction is one of the most common construction types for building modern passive kindergartens. The use of wood for building kindergartens has been increasing recently, as wood is a natural, energy efficient material which helps creating a healthy living environment. The aim of this study is to define, how two different groups of people: experts and employees in kindergarten, would select the importance of different criteria for building a kindergarten. A query was carried out. The criteria were divided into three groups: architectural, environmental and economical. In each of the specific criteria we selected four sub-criterias. Results were analysed using the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) as a widely used multicriteria method. The AHP analysis revealed that the interviewees selected the architecture criteria as the most important, followed by the environmental and the economical ones.
