Abstract

Title:Pocket City application for stimulation and development of tourism at micro and macro levels
Abstract:
Purpose: The purpose of the thesis is to develop a prototype of a mobile application interface that will simplify the tourist experience through the functionality offered by the application. Methodology: The application was implemented by planning the application interface, including the selection of purpose and type of application, sketching, followed by the execution of a wireframe model, prototyping, and evaluation. We utilized surveying the sample population, market research, and computer programs such as BPMN.io, Adobe CC, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Xd. Objectives: The thesis aims to create a wireframe model and prototype of a mobile application for tourism that allows users to explore the tourist offerings of a location in an engaging manner. Simultaneously, the application will operate on the principle of rewarding the user, thereby increasing their interest in exploring the surroundings. The goal is to acquaint the user with lesser-known service providers and local products and enhance the user's experience. Results: We created a wireframe model and prototype of a mobile application for tourism that effectively captures our objectives. Through surveys, we identified key elements of our application prototype most appealing to respondents and potential users. Findings and Conclusions: The wireframe model and interactive prototype (animated and responsive to inputs, simulating the final functionality of the application without programming implementation) of the Pocket City mobile application are well-thought-out, based on the findings of the conducted survey. It is presented in English, as market research revealed that this approach would reach the most users. Simultaneously, the application prototype is not overly complex, contributing to a positive long-term user experience.
