The aim of the diploma work was to determine the hygiene habits of preschool children and how preschool teachers can influence them. As I did not come across any diploma work that investigated the topic of hand hygiene, coughing, sneezing, nose wiping, and dietary hygiene, I chose to explore this topic. The empirical study focused on examining how hygiene habits can be influenced in preschool children aged 5-6 years. Utilizing a puppet, the study presented the concepts of viruses and bacteria and emphasized the importance of proper hygiene such as hand washing, coughing and sneezing, and nose wiping. The study aimed to educate preschoolers on proper hygiene habits in order to prevent the spread of germs and illnesses. 44 children aged 4-5 from the Prekmurje region participated in the event. The diploma work focuses on activities that can aid preschool teachers in improving the hygiene habits of children, serving as ideas to implement in their daily routines. The research reveals that four- and five-year-old children have developed several good hygiene habits at home and in daycare. These habits were enhanced through activities implemented in the research project, as evidenced by the outcomes of the children's knowledge and skills at the project's conclusion.
