The topic of the Internet of things is increasingly talked about and explored in today's world, but at the same time, people don't know what it has to offer. This thesis presents the Internet of Things both from a theoretical point of view and how it works in the real world. In more detail, the technologies used by IoT in mobility, specifically in public passenger transport, are presented. At the same time, its applicability in human mobility is also discussed. Throughout this thesis we have strived to present the topic in an understandable but professional way, so we reviewed a lot of literature and extracted the most important information relevant to this thesis. The thesis thus provides knowledge on the subject and insight into the usefulness of implementing such devices.
