In my thesis I focused on the challenges migrant women face in integration. In the theoretical part, I wrote about migration, defining the concepts and putting them in a legal framework. I wrote down the factors of integration that are most frequently used in the literature and presented them in detail. I continued with the role od social work in working with migrant women, presenting the photovoice method and concluded with ethical dilemmas in working with migrant women. I conducted qualitative research, where I conducted semi-structered interviews and used photovoice method. I wconducted interviews with migrant women who were part of family reunification, have been living in Slovenia for at least one year and have at least one child. During the interviews, I learned about the challenges women face in integration, the factors that are important to them and the role of family, community and social network. We also discussed the role of social work in their integration and the support they need in this process. The results showed that women face many challenges and obstacles in integration, discrimination based on their appearance, religion, gender, tradition or ethnicity, housing segregation, rejection by the local population, orientation in the city, lack of language skills and financial hardship. At the same time, they stressed the key role of social workers in supporting, empowering and motivating integration.
