Records management is a key factor for effective and accurate administrative operations, with effective records management being one of the fundamental elements in the operation of modern organisations. It contributes to transparency, visibility, effectiveness, and safety of procedures within an organisation as well as to maintaining cultural heritage. The development of electronic records management is directly linked to the needs of the society. Individuals and organisations strive for as effective information processing and distribution as possible, which could not, however, be ensured by traditional records management. The development of the society towards a digital society is still ongoing and will probably never end, with new types of information technology on the rise. Digitalization will thus contribute to the implementation of new information technologies in the field of records management and a symbiosis of technology and an individual within the society.
Through this paper, a study of the implementation of electronic records management was conducted in a selected organisation. The aim of the study was to present records management processes and provide a readiness assessment or effectiveness of the implementation of electronic records management. This paper thus serves as a foundation for gradual transition to electronic management of certain services and the implementation of future changes in the field of electronic records management, and as a basis for the preparation of internal rules, allowing the organisation to introduce electronic storage. The processes defined in the internal rules lead to more effective and correct work of the employees.
