Abstract
V teoretičnem delu magistrske naloge sistematično predstavljamo osnovne koncepte bralne pismenosti, raziskujemo pomen lahkega branja ter analiziramo strukturo slikanic in sodobnih pravljic.

Title:Adaptation of Three Selected Picture Books for Easy Reading
Abstract:
The theoretical part of the thesis systematically introduces the fundamental concepts of literacy, explores the significance of easy reading, and analyzes the structure of picture books and contemporary fairy tales. We delve into how reading impacts a child's cognitive development and discuss strategies to stimulate children's curiosity about books. Furthermore, we examine specific characteristics of high-quality picture books and contemporary fairy tales. The practical part focuses on the analysis of three selected picture books, where we systematically adapted the text following the principles of easy reading. Special emphasis is placed on strategies to spark children's interest in reading and understanding picture books, as well as observing their reactions to visual elements. Additionally, we analyze which points of the communication model can be effectively incorporated when reading picture books with children. In conclusion, we critically analyze the conducted activities and provide key findings regarding the success of adapting picture books using the easy reading approach. The thesis concludes with a reflection on the importance of developing literacy in early childhood and the role of high-quality picture books and modern fairy tales in this process.
