The master thesis deals with the study of solutions with different concentrations of hydrogen peroxide in an equilibrium mixture with citric acid (CA) and mineral acid as a catalyst with the aim of producing stable formulations of peroxycitric acid (PCA) for possible commercial use in the disinfection, food and pharmaceutical industries. The research included the characterization and stabilization of these formulations, studying the influence of concentrations of hydrogen peroxide and citric acid, the investigation of dilute solutions of PCA in comparison to the commercially known peroxyacetic acid (PAA) and the attempt to produce solid PCA formulations.
