We experienced that preschool teachers do not include poetry very often in their preschool curriculum, so we decided to include some poetry into preschool activities. In the group of twenty-four children, between the ages of five and six, we read and interpreted five poems and five word puzzles from poetry collection for children Mehurčki, and incorporated them in space theme. Most children were not familiar with poems and were interested to learn about them. With descriptive method of observation, we learned that children liked poems and thought they were interesting, and they got new knowledge about space with the help of poems.
