Purpose: The purpose of the diploma work is to examine the outcomes of nursing care or treatment, which are influenced by the interpersonal relationships of employees in the health care team, who participate in the treatment of patients and contribute to the treatment with their own decisions. Our attention is focused on hospitalized patients and on researching the impact of quality and poor quality interpersonal relationships between healthcare workers who are directly connected to them. We want to find out how these relationships affect the course, duration and outcomes of these patients' treatment. Methods: In the diploma work, we used the descriptive method of work. With a systematic review of scientific and professional literature in the field of nursing, medicine and other health sciences, interpersonal relationships, communication, and treatment outcomes. The search took place in the time frame from April to August 2023. The literature was searched in the English language using the keywords healthcare workers AND teamwork AND cooperation AND quality of care AND patient safety, in the CINAHL, Medline (PubMed) and COBIB.SI databases. We included 28 articles in the analysis, which were evaluated on a four-point scale according to the strength of the evidence. Results: Improving patient outcomes in hospitals requires a focus on improving interpersonal communication, relationships and collaboration between healthcare professionals.
