This master’s thesis reviews univerbated words and classifies them in colloquial language as well as establishes univerbation as productive word-formation. Lists of univerbated words were reviewed and new examples were added, then the frequency of the occurrence of univerbated words was examined. The occurrence frequency was reviewed by checking how many times a certain univerbated word appeared in Gigafida and Gigafida 2.0 corpora, then the number was compared with the number of occurrences on Google browser. The classification of univerbated words in colloquial language was done by analysing comments on the MMC RTVSLO portal, where the frequency of the occurrence of univerbated words and set phrases from which univerbated words developed was analysed.
