The aim of the thesis is to facilitate paediatricians in clinical decision-making regarding therapeutic hypothermia treatment in neonates with hypoxic-ischaemic encephalopathy and in tracking the size of cerebral ventricles in the neonatal period. The first segment of the web application allows paediatricians to enter the patient’s condition and to walk through the criteria that determine
the course of therapeutic hyperthermia treatment. The second segment of the application allows the input of the patient’s ventricular size, which is then used to generate graphs that allow the comparison of the patient with reference population values. As the application will be hosted on outdated servers and as the IT department cannot afford complex maintenance of the application, the application is developed without a back-end system and the user interface consists of pre-generated static files that are easily installable on virtually any server. The application allows easy addition of new guidelines and visualisations. It is developed in the JavaScript framework SvelteKit, and Tailwind was used as CSS framework. The web app is responsively designed, which means that it is also suitable for use on mobile devices. The app will soon be uploaded into the production environment through which paediatricians will be able to access it in their daily clinical work.
