Innovative companies respond to the dynamics of markets by constantly seeking flexibility in production and their processes. However, the effectiveness and efficiency of adaptation depends to a large extent on the people who plan and control production processes. For this reason, lean approaches to corporate and project management are becoming increasingly important worldwide. The aim is to continuously improve business processes, optimise facilities, reduce waste and improve quality, which must be strived for by all employees. The objective of this thesis is to investigate the application of lean project management methods in construction management and analyse their potential to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of construction projects. In doing so, we aim to understand how lean methods can be adapted to the specific needs and challenges of the construction industry and what impact they have on the quality of work delivery, costs, scheduling and satisfaction of all stakeholders involved. In the first part of the thesis, the most commonly used lean methods are presented. This is followed by an overview of the possible applications, the advantages of using lean methods and the possible disadvantages and difficulties of implementing lean methods in the construction industry. The second part of the thesis presents the implementation of lean management methods in a construction company in practise, as well as the results achieved by the company when applying them to specific projects. It is noted that lean methods are closely related to quality assurance and quality control. Our work is intended to contribute to a better understanding of the potential of lean methods for transforming construction management and improving its contribution to society.
