This master's thesis centers around research on Slovenian, English, and Italian architectural (Catholic) church terminology. First, it provides an overview of sources, which were consulted during the creation of the terminological section. These are monolingual and multilingual dictionaries, picture dictionaries, terminological dictionaries, and monolingual specialized glossaries. A short analysis of some translations of tourist texts is given as well to offer a brief insight into the current situation pertaining to accurate translation of terminology. The next part of the thesis focuses on the historical development of European architecture and churches from the beginnings of Christianity to the present day. In the main chapter, all the gathered terms are divided into terminological sections, in which an explanation of every Slovenian term (and its English and Italian translation) is given. The definitions also include inter-textual referencing, which allows for easy consultation of different terms and helps the reader better understand the architectural minutiae of a church. Some elements are accompanied by pictures and illustrations because they could be difficult to picture though their definition alone. The terminology is then presented in a multilingual glossary. Each entry is composed of the Slovenian term, its genitive form and grammatical gender, a brief definition, the English and Italian equivalent, the pertaining terminological section, and sources. The glossary is followed by a list of English and Italian terms in alphabetical order.
