The master's thesis deals with the conditioning preparation and nutrition of young football players aged between 16 and 17 years old. In the study, we used a descriptive method for a systematic review of literature from online databases such as Google Scholar, ResearchGate, Pub Med, and ScienceDirect. We included 94 sources that met the inclusion criteria and analyzed the entire text.
We found that the performance of football players depends on proper preparation throughout the season, taking into account individual needs and developmental stages. It is crucial to adapt programs according to the adolescent's growth and maturation stage and use high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and small sided games (SSG) to improve endurance. In addition, planning sports training, periodization, adjusting microcycles, and considering the nutritional needs of players is essential.
Based on the literature review, we prepared a plan for conditioning preparation and examples of meals that will support effective regeneration of football players and provide necessary nutrients and energy. The results will benefit coaches in designing long-term plans that will increase the performance of football players, reduce the risk of injuries, and improve their overall well-being.
