The thesis examines the Czech and Polish phraseological material in which the lexical component »time« appears and compares them. In the theoretical work, phraseology is presented as a linguistic discipline and its basic terminology, based on the professional literature of Czech and Polish linguists. The practical part contains an analysis of the material obtained by first writing the Czech phrases with the lexical component 'time' from the dictionary phraseological material, and by searching for their Polish equivalents in the dictionaries, then by writing the Polish phrases from the phraseological dictionaries and searching for their equivalent in the Czech language. In the case of the Czech language, some examples which are used in everyday language but are not included in the dictionary are also added to the Slovenian material. On the basis of the analysis at formal and semantic level, conclusions are drawn as to the extent to which phrases in Czech and Polish are equivalent. It is to be expected that the two languages, which are geographically, historically and culturally close to one another in addition to their linguistic affinity, have many common phrases.
