The idea of a universal basic income is very old. In recent years, there has been more and more talk about this concept and the desire to implement it. Universal basic income or abbreviated UTD is the income received by everyone in society, without exception, at certain intervals. Such a concept appeared with the aim of reducing poverty and social inequality, which has been increasing over the years around the world. The purpose of the diploma thesis is to investigate the attitude of different age groups towards the introduction of UTD in Slovenia. For this purpose, the survey questionnaire method was used and a quantitative analysis was made based on the results. As part of the research, we found out what attitudes the age groups have towards UTD and whether these attitudes differ among themselves. The results showed that the attitudes between the age groups do not differ significantly and that the age groups support the introduction of UTD. The research will serve as an understanding of the attitudes of age groups towards UTD, which will serve policy makers to make easier decisions regarding the implementation and introduction of UTD. The work will contribute to thinking about the introduction or adoption of related social welfare programs.
