In the Repiško Forest Reserve, we remeasured all trees in the systematic sampling plots established by Ana Brglez in 2014. All trees in sampling plots were measured using the measurement limit of 5 centimetres. We determined each tree’s diameter, as well as its species and condition. Within these plots, we outlined smaller plots, where we listed all saplings and determined their tree species and the degree of browsing. The analysis detected no significant change compared to 2014. In 2014, tree density was 663 trees/ha, while in 2022, it was 622 trees/ha. The tree species composition remained almost unaltered. The only significant change has been noticed with the common ash that was infected by ash dieback. The calculations determined that the percentage of beech in growing stock has been reduced by only 1%. The percentage of dead tree residues on plots was almost unaltered, as it increased by only 1% by 2022. A greater difference was observed in sampling density, where 13,600 samples/ha in 2014 have been reduced to 10,500 samples/ha in 2022. The browsing on samples has increased from 9% to 21%. Finally, we outlined the plot for the inventory of dead wood biomass that showed a lowered value of 117 m3/ha by 2022 in comparison to the 150,7 m3/ha from 2014.
