Decreased use of metaphors, denotative language, and autonomy of the author in relation to society seem to be the key features of a current of poetry in the post-independence years that may be described as intimistic. Their autonomous stance in particular may be interpreted as heterodoxy in regard to their predecessors, as well as a revitalisation of pre-modernist, broadly speaking Romantic tendencies.
