In this paper I'd like to discuss the difference between literary texts organised either by the dominance of time or of space. This difference refers to the relation between the "centre" and "margins" inside the "semiosphere" which, within Slovene culture, has changed since about 1990. The most significant representations of either time (and history) or (cultural) space seem to appear in the contemporary Slovene novel, so the paper will discuss some novels written by Rudi Šeligo, Drago Jančar and Andrej Skubic after 1990.
