Abstract
Diplomsko delo predstavlja slovensko dregovsko sceno in specifično razumevanje spola med nastopajočimi kralji in kraljicami preobleke sodobne dregovske scene v Sloveniji. Teoretske temelje dopolnjuje terenska raziskava, ki je bila opravljena med kralji in kraljicami preobleke ter njihovim občinstvom na območju Ljubljane. Avtorica najprej predstavi različne znanstvene definicije kraljev in kraljic preobleke in ob premislekih o spolu poda usmeritev o ustrezni terminološki rabi v slovenskem kontekstu. Nato na podlagi zgodovinskega razvoja kvirovske skupnosti in prostorov v Sloveniji oriše razvoj drega pri nas. V nadaljevanju opiše teatričnost drega in s tega vidika prikaže razvoj dregovske umetnosti, nakar povzame značilnosti današnje pojavnosti drega – dregovsko persono, kemp, skupnost performerjev drega in ritualiziranost nastopov. Med drugim obravnava tudi vprašanje političnosti drega, kar argumentira s primeri praks upogibanja spola med nastopi kraljev in kraljic preobleke. Predvsem pa naloga prikaže heterogenost slovenske dregovske scene.

Title:Slovenian Drag Scene: Perception and Performance of Gender
Abstract:
The thesis presents the Slovenian drag scene and the specific gender understanding of the performing kings and queens of the contemporary drag scene in Slovenia. The theoretical foundations are complemented by a fieldwork conducted among the drag kings and queens and their audiences in Ljubljana. The author first presents various scientific definitions of drag kings and queens and, with gender considerations in mind, provides guidance for the appropriate terminological usage in the Slovenian context. Then, based on the historical development of the queer community and spaces in Slovenia, it outlines the development of drag in Slovenia. The thesis then describes the theatricality of drag and, from this perspective, traces the development of drag art, before summarizing the characteristics of contemporary drag - the drag persona, camp, the community of drag performers and the ritualized nature of the performances. Among other things, it addresses the question of the politicalness of drag, providing arguments through examples of gender-bending practices that occur during the performances of drag kings and queens. Above all, the thesis illustrates the heterogeneity of the Slovenian drag scene.

Keywords:drag, drag queens/ kings, gender, theatre, camp, gender bending
