In my thesis, I deal with the concept of soul in the philosophy of Marsilio Ficino and Giovanni Pico della Mirandola. Since these authors are the most recognizable representatives of Renaissance Platonism, my intention is to shed light on the understanding of soul in the Renaissance, through their philosophy. I present the lives of the two philosophers and their works which are connected to the concept of soul. In the end, I made a comparison between the
Renaissance concept of soul and Descartes's res cogitans.
