In the modern economy, there has arisen a need for rapid development of new products. A key tool for fast-tracking development is modern simulation software, which allows for a quick transition from an idea to a design. A key benefit is also the lowered need for prototyping which lowers development costs. This work deals with the simulation of a synchronous permanent magnet machine with the FluxMotor software. The specific machine is meant to be integrated into the powertrain of an electric vehicle. The analysis is focused on electromagnetic, thermal and noise properties of the specific machine. Along the way, it will also be noted how the software calculates individual results and what limitations arise from methods the program uses.
