Sedimentological and micropaleontological (conodont) analysis of the succession of the Middle Triassic strata was performed. The succession is located in the quarry near
Slugovo. The succession consists of limestone and subordinate thin beds of tuff and lithic sandstone. A 1,5 m thick slumped sequence occurs in the central part of the section. Microfacial analysis was performed on 27 sedimentological thin sections. A total of 11 samples were taken for conodont analyses, each weighting approximately 1.5–2.5 kg. Six microfacies were identified and described: filament and radiolarian wackestone – packstone, radiolarian and filament grainstone, partly packstone, peloid-lithoclasticbioclastic grainstone, intraclastic-peloid-bioclastic grainstone, partly packstone, intraclastic-bioclastic-lithoclastic grainstone/rudstone and litho-vitroclastic tuff. The conodont assemblage comprises species ?Budurovignathus lipoldi Ramovš, Neogondolella sp. A, Paragondolella praetrammeri Kozur & Mostler, Paragondolella
slugovensis (Ramovš), Paragondolella trammeri Kozur, Paragondolella ex gr. trammeri, Paragondolella sp. A, Paragondolella sp. B in Paragondolella cf. liebermani Kovács & Kozur. Species Paragondolella trammeri, which characterizes the trammeri conodont zone, places the succession in the late Illyrian to early Fassanian time interval.
