This thesis examines youth tourism in the rural areas of the Municipality of Izola. By employing descriptive methods (review of scientific literature and statistical data) as well as methods of interviewing, surveying, and field mapping, we focused on identifying what the rural areas of Izola offer to visitors and tourists, and to what extent youth tourism is developed in the rural areas of the municipality. We further interviewed relevant providers of leisure and tourism services operating in surveyed area. With an e-questionnaire we addressed young people since we analysed their demand for tourism and recreational services in the rural areas of Izola. We found that youth tourism in the rural areas of the Municipality of Izola is relatively underdeveloped, despite the favorable geographical conditions of the area (varied terrain, favorable location, rich cultural heritage, etc.). Local providers of leisure and tourism services are interested in the development of this type of tourism, and young residents of the Municipality of Izola expressed a desire for more events or activities within the municipality, primarily aimed at the younger population. Therefore, in this thesis, we have developed three proposals (establishment of a Center for School and After-School Activities, setting up mountainbike downhill trails in Korte and Malija, the possibility of organizing music festivals) to indicate some of the possibilities for youth tourism development in the rural areas of the Municipality of Izola.
