I have prepared five copper(I) complexes with bipyridine-type ligands. In the first set of compounds (methyltio)pyrimidine ligands have been bound to central ion in stochiometric ratio 2:1. In addition to chelate ligand one complex also contained triphenylphosphine. As it turns out, similar reactions with other used pyrimidinthiones do not take place.
Prepared compounds were characterised with NMR, UV-VIS and IR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry and CHN elemental analysis. I have also prepared monocrystals of most complexes, structures of which were determined with X-ray diffraction.
