As the use of robotic systems in industry has increased, so has the need for robotics knowledge and teaching. Educational robots, based on modern teaching methods such as STEAM and learning by doing, have been developed to teach the basics of robotics. In the final thesis we review these teaching methods and apply them through educational robots. We have reviewed the suitability of different educational robots for our purpose of use in a summer school of mechanical engineering. For the chosen robot maqueen, we analysed its performance and capabilities in more detail. Based on all the findings, we designed tasks for the students throught which they got a closer look at some of the basics of robotics.
