This diploma thesis discusses welding MIG/MAG of pre-cut S235 structural steel pieces with VAC 60 welding wire under Ferroline C18 shielding gas. It was necessary to weld two bases, one for the two-axis rotary tables, and one for the welding robot. In the experimental work, the most important part was recording the welding time and measuring the length of the welds, because based on this data we got information for further calculations of welding costs. Based on preliminary tests, we determined the welding parameters. In addition, we made a macrosamples grinding of the selected weld and a visual inspection of all the other welds made on the bases. We estimated the proportion of quality welds, which is 86 % and 14 % of lower quality welds, which were additionally repaired. From the cost calculation, we find that the largest cost is the cost of work and operation, which takes up to 90 % of the total welding cost. Other costs are significantly lower, where the consumption of filler material still dominates with 5,5 %. The third largest cost presents the cost of used shielding gas with 3,5 %. And the least impact on the final cost is the cost of consumed energy with 1 %. Also, due to the increased price of materials, our final total cost increased by 4.8 %.
