The Master’s thesis focuses on the development and construction of a testing apparatus for small electric motors and their control systems, focusing on small household appliances. We have prepared three different concepts of a test rig. The final concept was made into a device with integrated controlled brake, clutch to connect electromotor to shaft and measurement system for capturing revolutions per minute (RPM), torque and electromotor’s electrical parameters. We developed and produced printed circuit boards for capturing and transmission of electrical signals in the test rig, as well as computer software in programming framework Arduino for the test rig to operate. Developed test rig was assembled and tested in the company. The test results indicate that the testing apparatus meets requirements of development department and operates as expected. We safely inserted the electric motor into the apparatus and, based on the entered braking profile, measured the parameters of the electric motor at maximum RPM and displayed them graphically on the computer screen.
