In the contemporary Slovene novel (1990-2010), with regard to the dramatic elements, most attention has so far been paid to speech. To get closer to other dramatic elements - direct transformation, visualisation and an effort to create atmosphere - I have chosen Goran Vojnović's novel Čefurji raus (2008), which employs a melange of dramatic elements. I have came to the conclusion that the dramatic elements in this novel contribute to the process of bringing it closer to screen play, i.e. the transformation of the epic core of the novel into the characteristics of a screenplay.
