The article describes the literary contact between the Czech poet, translator and editor František Ladislav Čelakovský and the Slovene poet France Prešeren. It analyses the work Krajinská literatura (Časopis českého Museum, 1832) by Čelakovský and its reception by the
contemporary Slovene reader. Krajinská literatura helped consolidate the model of aestetically important literature as the dominant one in Slovene culture.
