Abstract

Title:Influence of using the lift on efficiency and difficulty of work in harvesting wood with the adapted forestry tractor Kotschenreuther K 115
Abstract:
Despite the fact that tractor harvesting is the most common method of harvesting wood in Slovenia, the method of harvesting wood with a tractor, which is also equipped with a lift with a grab, is rare and unknown, so in the diploma thesis we compare this method of harvesting wood with the traditional method of harvesting wood, in which the tractor is equipped only with a winch. The research was carried out in the company Forestry Rigler in the forest management unit Žužemberk, in which we recorded the efficiency and difficulty of work using both methods in 50 cycles of harvesting wood with the tractor Kotschenreuther K115 R. We found that in the average volume of cancelled trees above 0.2 m3/tree, harvesting wood using an additional lift is more efficient than harvesting wood using only a winch. Using a lift when harvesting wood also reduces the difficulty of work. Thus, the average working pulse for harvesting wood using an additional lift was 49.5 u/min, while the relative working pulse was 33.5 %, while for harvesting wood using a winch alone it was 59.8 u/min or 40.4 %. Considering today's working conditions, the findings indicate a higher difficulty of work than is allowed by the current Rules. By introducing mandatory short-term systematically distributed breaks throughout the working day instead of shortening working hours and introducing a processor head, the difficulty of work would be reduced.
