Abstract

Abstract:
In this contribution the translator presents the first compilation of five Slovene plays in Bulgarian (2014) and reflects on the similarities between the Bulgarian and Slovene psychology described in the dramas. The author is convinced that the Slovene theatre plays a unifying role in society. The following polemic question is posed: can Bulgarians and Slovenes get to know each other better by exploring each other's psychology through drama rather than other types of literature (poetry and prose)?

Keywords:Slovene literature, Slovene drama and theatre, translating into Bulgarian language, reader response, national mentality, national repertoire, Slovene-Bulgarian cultural contacts, plot
